More than one third (37%) of survey respondents report that bringing talented people on board and developing them has become more difficult over the past two years, while 44% feel the situation hasn’t changed at all. Slightly over three-quarters see either the same degree of difficulty or an increase in difficulty over the past two years, which suggests we have a long away to go before our talent development engines are optimally tuned. Companies’ ability to offer their talented supply chain personnel a compelling career progression has not improved. The data at least directionally suggests that this is more of a structural problem than a cyclical one.
